Baltimore, MD - Jan. 25, 2026 — This evening, Mayor Brandon M. Scott issued the following update regarding the ongoing winter storm that has caused snow accumulation, icy conditions, and freezing temperatures.
The Baltimore City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) remains activated. The State of Emergency declaration issued by Mayor Scott on Friday, January 23rd remains in effect.
Forecast Update
The Baltimore region remains under a Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). Snowfall continued throughout Sunday afternoon and is expected to last into the late evening according to the NWS. So far, Baltimore City has over seen 8 inches of snow accumulation. There will be no trash or recycling collection on Monday, and all drop-off centers will be closed. Collection will move to a slide schedule. Baltimore, MD – Jan. 25, 2026 – Baltimore City has declared a Snow Emergency as a major winter storm impacts the region, bringing heavy snow, possible ice, and dangerously cold temperatures.
City officials are urging residents to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel so emergency crews and snowplows can operate safely.
During the snow emergency, vehicles operating on Baltimore City streets must be equipped with snow tires, all-weather radial tires, or chains. As conditions worsen, only authorized emergency and essential vehicles — including snowplows, BGE crews, medical transport, and first responders — are permitted on city streets.

Balimore, MD - Jan. 24, 2026 - Snow is expected to move into Baltimore City and surrounding counties late Motzaei Shabbos, with heavy precipitation continuing through most of Sunday as a powerful winter storm impacts the region.
Overnight into Sunday morning will bring steady snowfall, quickly coating roads and sidewalks. Conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly, making travel increasingly difficult.
By Sunday afternoon, slightly warmer air may push into parts of the Baltimore metro area, causing snow to briefly mix with sleet or freezing rain. Later Sunday evening, colder air is forecast to return, allowing precipitation to change back to snow.

Some 4,399 days ago (12 years!) I was sitting in the Bais Midrash of Yeshivas Mercaz HaTorah, when my friend, Ben, approached me and asked if I had a Dvar Torah that I wanted to submit in that week’s Parsha printout. It was a Thursday, Rosh Chodesh Shevat, and the Parsha that week was none other than Bo!
The truth is, I didn’t have a Dvar Torah on my mind but I wanted to submit something anyway, so in the moment I said to Ben, “Sure! I have something for you!” Right next to me (it was actually to my left, but whatever!) was an Artscroll Tanach. I picked it up and opened it to a random page, pointing to a random pasuk. It was the pasuk of “ועשית משבצות זהב” found in Parshas Tetzaveh (28:13). I read the English translation aloud to Ben: &ldq...

In stark contrast with all the other plagues, G-d is not reported as having first described the nature of the ensuing plague of ארבה — Locusts. He simply states 'these signs' without details.
The emphasis on אלה — 'these' non-descriptive signs, seems superfluous. It could have just as well stated, "that I may place signs of mine in his midst."

Seven Mile Market plans to open on time Sunday morning (7:30), weather permitting. We do plan to close early, exact time to be determined as the weather event progresses throughout the day.
Our Bakery, Deli, Appetizing, Meat and Chicken departments will be closed for full service, but pre-packaged items will be available. The Sushi Department will be open.
We received deliveries of Milk and eggs on Friday morning so we should be well stocked on Sunday.
