In our previous pieces, we have delved into the profound and transformative power of Torah and mitzvot in our lives. They safeguard our health and foster our personal and spiritual growth, inspiring us to reach a higher spiritual plane.
Sustaining True Life
Rebbe Akiva saw Torah learning as not just critical but essential. In response to those who questioned his teaching Torah in violation of a Roman decree, Rebbe Akiva compared our need for Torah to a fish’s dependency on water (Berachot 61b). Torah is not just an enhancer of life but a condition for it. Though we can survive physically without Torah, our spiritual life hinges upon its sustenance.
Significantly, Rebbe Akiva compared our dependency on Torah learning to that of a fish, not a human, on water. Unlike humans, ...
Lebanese news website al-Modon revealed details on Saturday from the draft for a ceasefire deal between Israel and Lebanon.
The proposal includes a full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied areas, the deployment of 5,000 Lebanese troops in southern Lebanon, and granting exclusive military authority in the area to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).
The agreement also states that the LAF will be assisted in controlling the border crossings and preventing weapons smuggling.
The draft also includes the reactivation of UNIFIL and scans in the area by the LAF to ensure that there are no unauthorized arms in the south of the country.
After a two-month truce, the tripartite committee (Lebanon, Israel, and UNIFL) will reconvene to discuss the marking of the land border and 13 other points of conf...

"The enemy is still unable to occupy a single Lebanese village, and the epic of the al-Khiam Fortress stands as a living testament to heroism," he claimed.
He also stated that "The Israeli claims about our depleted missile stock are mere fabrications; our missiles will surprise."

Rachel is 47 years old. She came into The Wellness Clinic for a consultation to consider working with us. She had become very concerned as her weight has been climbing by about 2 kilo per year for the last 5 years and in parallel, both her sugar and blood pressure had been creeping up. As someone who had never had health issues, this had Rachel worried. Her doctor was quite adamant that if she wasn’t able to control her risk factors through lifestyle changes including weight loss, he was going to have to start her on medications both for her high blood sugar and her high blood pressure and as a precaution, give her a statin drug against high cholesterol.
Racheli was clearly frustrated. “What am I doing wrong?” she asked. “I...

A Hezbollah rocket struck the Avot Ubanim synagogue near Carmel Center in Haifa and another building this evening. Yosef Tesler, a Viznitz hasid from Haifa, told Arutz Sheva - Israel National News that the city has not heard such an explosion since the war broke out.
"There was an alarm. I thought it was another one of the many rocket attacks to which we are unfortunately accustomed. I ran to the safe area, and after a few seconds, four horrific explosions shook the area," he said.
"For a moment, we thought the rocket had struck the building next to me. Everything shook. I rushed outside in panic, and I heard sirens of rescue forces racing towards Carmel. Later we heard that the rockets had struck the ancient Avot Ubanim synagogue.

US President-elect Donald Trump’s administration is preparing to reinstate its "maximum pressure" strategy against Iran, targeting Tehran’s economic stability and its ability to support militant proxies and nuclear development, The Financial Times reported on Saturday, citing sources close to the transition team.
The sources revealed that the administration plans to impose stricter sanctions, particularly on Iran’s oil exports, which serve as a critical revenue source.
The anticipated sanctions could drastically reduce Iranian oil exports, which currently exceed 1.5 million barrels per day, up from a low of 400,000 barrels per day in 2020. Experts suggest that these measures would severely impact Iran’s economy. Bob McNally, an energy consultant an...

About 55,000 Canada Post workers went on strike for the second time in six years on Friday after their union said it had failed to reach a pay deal with the postal operator in the run-up to the holiday season.
Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon, who has twice this year moved to end work disputes in other sectors, made clear he was not considering another intervention for the time being.
The union is demanding wage increases in line with inflation, cost-of-living adjustment payments to be rolled into the basic wage rate, and safe working conditions. The union had issued a three-day strike notice earlier this week.
"After a year of bargaining with little progress, postal workers made the difficult decision to strike, opens new tab," the Canadian Union of Postal Workers sa...
