Just this past week I was driving to 2:30 Mincha at Tov Pizza, and there was a car in front of me with a sticker that caught my eyes. It read: DO YOU FOLLOW JESUS THIS CLOSELY?I then went inside to daven to Hashem. And it occurred to me that we are so lucky. Ashreinu! Christianity is a religion, made up by man. It's true, it has 2.5 billion followers. But that's all it is: followers. Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and all the rest of them, are the same story. A man-made religion with many followers. They are sort of like a massive social media account that has tons of followers and subscribers.  A follower might be connected. A follower might stay up to date on the latest video, or whatever content was posted. Followers in a religious framework are the same way. They might ha...
Baltimore, MD – June 17, 2026 – Community members, healthcare leaders, and dedicated supporters recently gathered for an evening that beautifully reflected the strength and unity of our local Orthodox community. Hosted by Rachel and David Warschawski, the “Magic of Chai” event brought together leaders from Sinai Hospital and Levindale alongside physicians and community members for an intimate and meaningful conversation. Building on the momentum of the recent Magic of Life Gala, the evening created a space where relationships were deepened, and important conversations could unfold in a more personal setting. We were also honored by the presence of newly elected President and CEO, Jennifer Nickoles, whose attendance underscored the importance of this growing partne...
Elyashiv, a soldier in the IDF Military Rabbinate, may have inadvertently saved many lives by providing a religious service to soldiers. Approximately a month and a half ago, as part of his job, Elyashiv installed an eruv at a military outpost near the Lebanese border. A few days after the installation, Hezbollah launched an explosive FPV drone toward the area. The drone got tangled in the eruv's string and could not continue its flight. As a result, the drone detonated on the eruv and did not fall to the ground. No one was injured in the incident. Elyashiv's fellow soldiers are referring to the incident as a "miracle" as the eruv prevented the drone from striking the soldiers in the outpost.
A senior US official told Reuters that Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to a ceasefire that will take effect at 4:00 p.m. Earlier, the US informed Iran that Israel was not expected to escalate its strikes in Lebanon despite the deadly incident in southern Lebanon in which four Israeli soldiers were killed by Hezbollah fire, CNN reported on Friday afternoon. Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “My directive is clear: Israel will not tolerate attacks on our soldiers or our territory, and it will exact a very heavy price from Hezbollah for these attacks. The IDF will act to eliminate any threat to our forces and our territory. As I made unequivocally clear, including yesterday, Israel will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon for as long...
This past week I had the privilege to address the entire 4th and 5th graders at Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim — Talmudical Academy of Baltimore, as they celebrated the Hadran Alach project where all the students had engaged for several months in reviewing multiple times the material they have studied over the year. There were several things that struck me at the event. Every single child, without exception, was enthusiastically studying as I arrived. The joy on their faces was palpable. It made no difference whether it was the most advanced student or challenged ones. You simply could not discern which category they fell into. At that moment a thought occurred to me that answered a dilemma in a verse in this week's reading of the portion of Korach.  The gauntlet was thrown dow...
