Balimore, MD - Aug. 25, 2025 - President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance criticized Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and other Democratic governors on their approach to crime within their states and cities.
Vance questioned why Democratic governors, including Moore, wouldn't want help on addressing crime issues.
"We want people to welcome us, to ask us... look at Gov. Pritzker in Illinois or Gov. Newsom in Los Angeles or Gov. Moore in Maryland. They are angrier about the fact that the President of the United States is offering to help them get their crime under control than they are about the fact that murderers are running roughshod over their cities, and have been for decades," Vance said in the Oval Office on Monday.
Why are Democrat governors angrier about federal l...
President Donald Trump ousted Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook on Monday, alleging she lied on mortgage forms by declaring two primary residences.
In a letter to Cook, Trump said the Federal Reserve Act provides that she can be removed at his discretion.
"As set forth in the Criminal Referral dated August 15, 2025, from Mr. William J. Pulte, Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to Ms. Pamela Bondi, Attorney General of the United States…there is sufficient reason to believe you may have made false statements on one or more mortgage agreements," Trump wrote. "For example, as detailed in the Criminal Referral, you signed one document attesting that a property in Michigan would be your primary residence for the next year.
"Two weeks later, you signed ...

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa confirmed on Sunday evening that "advanced talks" are underway between Damascus and Jerusalem aimed at reaching a security agreement. He made the remarks during a meeting with Arab media representatives.
According to Nadim Koteich, director of Sky News Arabia, al-Sharaa indicated that the expected agreement would be based on the 1974 disengagement line between the two countries.
The Syrian President stated that his objective is to renew the ceasefire with Israel and establish "security arrangements" that would preserve Syria’s sovereignty. He noted that these steps could open the door to initiatives potentially leading to further agreements in the future.
At the same time, al-Sharaa stressed that he does not currently see the possibility of a ...

Taking Care of Yourself
Many of us can recite the pre-flight safety instructions by heart, but on my recent trip to London, one sentence stood out: “In case of emergency, put your own oxygen mask on first, before assisting your children or anyone else sitting next to you.”
Such a simple, yet profound idea: first, secure your own well-being. This is not selfishness, but common sense. If you don’t take care of yourself, you cannot take care of others.
Parents who are calm and happy are better able to care for their children. When they also nurture their relationship as a couple, the whole family benefits. The same is true in every area of life: we need to “fill our own cup” in order to have something to pour for others. If our cup is empty, we have little to ...
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has called on Islamic nations to pursue the suspension of Israel from the United Nations General Assembly, citing alleged violations of international law during the ongoing war in Gaza.
Speaking at an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh on Monday, Fidan accused Israel of committing "genocidal aggression" in Gaza and urged collective action to halt the fighting and support Palestinian statehood. He advocated for the Islamic bloc to initiate a campaign to revoke Israel's participation in UN General Assembly activities.
Fidan’s remarks were echoed in the summit's concluding statement, which called on OIC member states to assess whether Israel’s continued membership aligns with the UN Charter....

IDF Col. (res.) Dr. Jacques Neriah, a former senior officer in Military Intelligence, warned on Sunday of an impending “second round” against Iran, saying Hezbollah operatives had been instructed to distance themselves from their phones in recent days.
“There is a sense that a war is coming, that Iranian revenge is in the works. The Iranians will not be able to live with this humiliation for long,” he told Udi Segal and Anat Davidov on 103FM.
“If the reports are true and there will be a meeting between the two leaders, this is huge news. We dreamed of this, we wanted this, and now it is coming true before our eyes.”
Recent talks between Israel and Syria on a political agreement

An investigation by the Israel Air Force on Sunday found that the ballistic missile launched by Yemen's Houthis on Friday night contained cluster munitions, the first time during the war that they used this category of weapon.
On one hand, such a weapon tends to have a less harmful impact if it achieves direct hits as opposed to a classic ballistic missile.
But on the other hand, this kind of missile can have a higher chance of causing at least some minor harm because it splits into many parts, which can have many impacts.
According to the IDF, the fact that it failed to shoot down the missile was due to some other still unidentified human or technical failure and not due to the missile including cluster munitions.
However, it is possible that given a ballistic miss...
