Baltimore, MD - Jan. 27, 2025 - Federal agents arrested Pikesville High School's former athletic director Monday morning at Baltimore County Circuit Court.
Dazhon Darien was taken into custody before a court hearing, 11 News reporter Barry Simms reports.

This comes after Eric Eiswert, the school's former principal, is suing Darien, the Baltimore County Board of Education and the school district almost a year after Eiswert's voice was allegedly used in an AI-generated audio clip containing a litany of hate speech.
According to court records obtained on Jan. 9 by 11 News, Eiswert accuses Darien of conspiring with other district employees to spread the recording.

Automaker Kia America is recalling more than 80,000 vehicles due to floor wiring beneath the front passenger seat that can become damaged and prevent airbags and seat belts from deploying properly.
Damaged wiring can also cause an unintended side curtain air bag deployment, according to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall covers 80,255 2023-2025 Niro EV, Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and Hybrid vehicles.
To remedy the situation, dealers will inspect, replace and reroute the floor wiring assembly, as necessary, for free. In addition, dealers will install wiring covers. Owners will be notified by letters mailed in March.

The White House said Sunday night that Colombia has agreed to “unrestricted acceptance” of immigrants who entered the US illegally from Colombia and that President Donald Trump will not levy a 25% tariff on the country “unless Colombia fails to honor this agreement.”

Israeli President Isaac Herzog and First Lady Michal Herzog arrived in New York on Sunday and visited the kever of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Queens.

The Hamas terrorist organization rejected US President Donald Trump’s proposal to temporarily relocate residents from the Gaza Strip to Jordan and Egypt in order to accelerate the reconstruction of the enclave.
In response to these remarks, Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas official, said that Gaza residents faced the risk of death as long as they do not leave their homeland, which they would never abandon for any reason.
According to him, there is no point in wasting time on plans tried by former President Joe Biden, which were the reason for the continuation of the fighting.

A Palestinian prisoner set to be released on Saturday's hostage-prisoner exchange refused to board the bus to Gaza, KAN News reported.
Originally, two prisoners - who were being held at Israel's Ktzi'ot Prison - refused to be released as part of the deal with Hamas. However, one was ultimately persuaded and returned to Gaza, KAN added.
The other, however, remained and was replaced with another prisoner.
