President-elect Donald Trump designated his former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, to become director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Prior to being appointed by Trump, Ratcliffe served as a Republican House member from Texas. From his seats on the Judiciary and Intelligence committees, Ratcliffe was a strong defender of Trump's. Some political observers viewed Ratcliffe as a contender to serve as the next attorney general.

Huckabee is a staunch defender of Israel and his intended nomination comes as Trump has promised to align U.S. foreign policy more closely with Israel’s interests as it wages wars against Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

A New York judge delayed plans Tuesday to decide whether President-elect Trump’s conviction can withstand the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity ruling, following his election victory last week.
In an email to Manhattan prosecutors and Trump’s attorneys, Judge Juan Merchan said he would freeze the case until Nov. 19. Prosecutors are due to provide by then an update on what they believe are the appropriate next steps now that he is president-elect.

A new inspector general's report reveals local governments are no exception to the rule.
From January 2022 to March of 2024, Baltimore County reportedly racked up $17,289.13 in unpaid tolls.
During that period Baltimore County government vehicles were issued 460 citations.
A good portion of the outstanding balance was in overdue penalties.
The Inspector General noted how not all County vehicles were equipped with E-Z passes.
In some cases where there was an E-Z pass, the accounts were either in the negative or not properly registered.

Following Israel's strikes in Iran earlier in October, Iran is building a "defensive tunnel" in the capital Tehran, reported the semi-official Tasnim news agency on Tuesday.
The tunnel, said to be located near the city centre, aims to link a station on the Tehran metro to the Imam Khomeini hospital. The idea is to create a direct underground access to the medical facility.
