Baltimore, MD – Nov. 5, 2024 – (BJL) Baltimore City voters have decided against Question H, a proposal to increase the number of City Council members. With the measure's failure, the City Council will maintain its current structure of 15 members.
Question H was put forth as a way to potentially increase representation across Baltimore's neighborhoods. However, voters opted to keep the council’s size unchanged, reflecting either satisfaction with the current structure or concerns about the costs and effectiveness of adding more council members.
The City Council will continue its operations with its existing 15-member framework, as it has for years.
The Fox News Decision Desk can project that Republicans will take control of the Senate.
The party will hold at least 51 seats, enough for an outright majority.
The tipping point seat is Nebraska, where Fox News projects that Republican incumbent Senator Deb Fischer will defeat independent challenger Dan Osborn.
It’s not yet clear who will serve as the next Senate majority leader.
Republican leader Mitch McConnell, who is the longest serving Senate leader in history, announced earlier this year that he would step down

Baltimore, MD - Nov. 5, 2024 - Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan spoke to supporters following his projected loss in the race for the Maryland U.S. Senate seat against Democrat Angela Alsobrooks.
Alsobrooks will be the state’s first Black U.S. senator. She defeated popular Republican former Gov. Larry Hogan, who was considered one of the most competitive candidates for the GOP in years in the blue state.
The race received widespread attention because of its potential to affect control of the Senate. Alsobrooks campaigned heavily on supporting abortion rights. She has served as Prince George’s County executive in Maryland’s second most populous jurisdiction in the suburbs of the nation’s capital. Alsobrooks also served as the county’s top prosecutor.

In Parshas Toldos it says that after leaving Avimelech, Yitzchok planted a field and was so successful with its planting that it produced “Meah Sharim” 100 times more. Rashi explains why Yitzchok measured the field’s production. The reason is so he could give maaser on what grew.

The Tikva Forum, a forum of families of hostages, dissented from the condemnation of the firing of Yoav Gallant as defense minister by the Hostages Family Forum and instead called the move an "opportunity."
"The dismissal of Minister Galant and the appointment of Israel Katz opens up an opportunity for us to make a strategic change regarding the return of the hostages," the Tikva Forum stated.
"The time has come to push with all our might Netanyahu's proposal for the return of captives through the release of the hostages for a large sum of money. We trust Minister Katz to increase and further intensify the military pressure on what is left of Hamas in Gaza. All means are kosher for the return of our children. We thank Minister Gallant for his work for the security of Israe...
Who is Yoav Gallant?
Yoav Gallant, recently dismissed as Israel’s Defense Minister, is a former general recognized for his practical, no-nonsense approach to security. Gallant built public respect for his role in managing Israel’s 13-month Gaza campaign and fostered strong ties with international allies, including US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, enhancing his influence on Israel’s defense policy.
Why did Netanyahu fire him?
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cited a “crisis of trust” and strategic differences in his decision to remove Gallant. Netanyahu’s office pointed to Gallant’s opposition to continuing an aggressive campaign against Hamas without clear objectives. Gallant criticized Netanyahu’s goal of “absolute vict...
The Prime Minister's Office rejected the reports that Prime Minister Netanyahu is planning to fire IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and stated, "The reports to the effect that the Prime Minister intends to dismiss senior officials in the security services are incorrect and are designed to sow discord and rifts. This is also the case with the mendacious reports that the haredi ministers were in on the matter. They learned about it from the media."
