Rabbi Naiman: I was born and raised in Baltimore, with roots here for seven generations. I attended Torah Institute and then Ner Yisrael. In the first Pasuk of Parshas Noach, there is a Rashi which calls out for deeper analysis and explanation. The famous Rashi, “B’Dorosav”, quotes conflicting opinions in Chazal as to what the pasuk means when it says that Noach was a Tzadik “in his generation”. One opinion is that Noach was a complete Tzadik. The other view is that Noach was only a Tzadik “B’Dorosav” – when compared to the Reshaim of his generation. This derogatory description even goes so far as to say “Had Noach lived in Avraham’s Dor, Lo Nechshav Klum- he wouldn’t have been recognized as an outstanding individual”. A senior Hamas official on Thursday rejected a partial deal which would include the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for a temporary ceasefire, Al Hadath reported.
According to the report, Hamas' Taher al-Nunu stressed that the terror group rejects a temporary ceasefire, but will support any proposal which will lead to a permanent end to the war.

Jerusalem, Israel - Oct. 31, 2024 - Rabbi Kalman Bar, the Chief Rabbi of Netanya, was elected on Thursday to serve as the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel.
The elections were held between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the Chief Rabbinate headquarters in Jerusalem. 136 out of the 140 members of the electoral body participated in the voting.
