It’s the day after. We are post-Tisha B’Av. What to do, how to feel? Last night, my friend told me that her Tisha B’Av was beautiful—an oxymoron, but so true. However, she was disappointed because Moshiach had not come. The same thing happened this morning with another friend, whom I caught up with on her way to work. I told them both to get their dresses out; it 'ain't over yet. The key word being “yet.” I’m still hopeful that he’s really on his way. Soon. And isn’t that the message of Tisha B’Av? Hope! My friend took challah yesterday with a tefillah for Mashiach, and I told her, “Nu, you’ll give Moshiach the challah, and I will give him the soup!” (Pre-Pesach article on BJL). I can only speak from...

Last week, Ismail Haniyeh, a notorious bloodthirsty murderer and leader of a gang of ruthless terrorists, was removed from this planet. He was a vile murderer accountable for the deaths of thousands of innocent Israeli civilians. The world is a much better place without him. Astonishingly, parts of the media portrayed him as a Hamas official or a political statesman representing the interests of the Palestinian people. After all, he had served as the prime minister of Aza, the political chief of Hamas and the Deputy Chairman of its Political Bureau. Talk about hideous euphemisms. He was a monster personally responsible for thousands of terror attacks against innocent civilians. He was nothing more than a murderous thug, regardless of the grandiose titles the media might have adorned him w...
Recently, I asked fellow speakers if they shared my perception: lectures given before October 7 are markedly different from those delivered afterward. Today's talks are transformative—we are all on a higher plane of understanding. We've collectively undergone a profound educational journey since Simchat Torah. Our interactions are now deeper, resonating on a soul level as we seek to learn and gain strength together, particularly with the younger generation—the emerging leaders of the Jewish community. In one lecture for young people, I presented "pictures of victory," showcasing small moments of light, justice, and strength. These moments embody Israeli and Jewish pride. I told the audience that to achieve a final victory, we must recognize and celebrate these small ...
The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) and other banks were targeted on Wednesday as part of a significant cyber attack that led to widespread disruptions in the country's banking system, Iran International reported. According to reports, all the computer systems of the banks in Iran were paralyzed following the cyber attack. Initial estimates indicated that this could be one of the largest-ever cyberattacks against Iranian state infrastructure. A signal to Iran? The cyber attack is most likely a signal from the Western countries to Iran, that is, conveying a message that demonstrates how Iran can be harmed. The last cyber attack carried out against Iranian institutions took place last December when a significant part of the gas stations in the country were damaged as p...

Iran has angered its allies, particularly Hezbollah and Hamas, by once again urging caution in responding to Israel after the assassinations of high-ranking Hezbollah terrorist Fuad Shukr and Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, the Kuwaiti newspaper al Jarida reported on Wednesday. According to the report, while Iran has recently signaled a willingness to delay its response to Haniyeh's assassination, a source within the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's Quds Force revealed to the Kuwaiti news outlet that a heated meeting took place on Sunday in Tehran between representatives of Iran's regional allies and the Revolutionary Guard leadership. This meeting exposed a significant rift, the report noted, which escalated into a verbal clash and ended with ...

Shortly afterward, the IAF struck terrorist targets in the area from which the rockets were launched. The strikes were carried out adjacent to the launch site, outside of the Humanitarian Aid Route. The IDF noted in a statement that Hamas continues to place rocket launchers next to humanitarian and civilian sites in Gaza. IDF International Spokesperson Lt.-Col. Nadav Shoshani shared a video on X, formerly Twitter, showing Hamas terrorists in civilian clothes launching rockets from within tents near the humanitarian zone in Khan Yunis. Iran is expected to skip a retaliatory strike on Israel if a Gaza ceasefire deal is reached, US President Joe Biden told reporters in New Orleans on Tuesday, stressing “That’s my expectation.” Defense Minister Yoav Gallant left nothing to chance, stating in northern Israel that the IDF is prepared for defensive and offensive actions against Hezbollah and Iran, even as the United States pinned its hope for averting a regional war on Thursday’s hostage talks in Doha.A hostage and Gaza ceasefire agreement would more “broadly, create conditions for diplomacy to get the region out of this cycle of violence,” US State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel told reporters in Washington on Tuesday.Three senior Iranian officials told Re...
Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., faces fresh controversy after a resurfaced 2018 video showed him praising a Muslim cleric, who once shared a pro-Hitler propaganda film and celebrated Oct. 7, as a "master teacher."  In the last few years, Imam Asad Zaman has used his Facebook page to share official Hamas press releases, blog posts from antisemitic sites and a 2015 link to a pro-Hitler film, "The Greatest Story Never Told." Zaman also posted on Oct. 7 that he and his organization "stands in solidarity with Palestinians against Israeli attacks." On Fox News’ "Outnumbered," Chicago-based correspondent Mike Tobin reported on The Washington Examiner unearthing a video of Walz speaking at an event hosted by Zaman's group, the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, on Feb. 16, 2018...
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, was able to avoid the recent fate of some of her other "Squad" members in Congress, coming away with the win in the Democrat primary for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District on Tuesday. The race featured another member of the so-called "Squad" facing off with a primary challenger, with Don Samuels, Abena McKenzie and Nate Schluter looking to make Omar the third member of the progressive group to lose a primary challenge in this cycle. The race featured a rematch between Omar and Samuels, who the incumbent representative narrowly escaped losing to in a 2022 primary challenge, inching out a win over Samuels by just under two percentage points before easily coasting to re-election in November. The Democrat primary in Minnesota’s 5th Congressi...
