Dear All Torah friends, Rabbi Hauer, ztv”l's shloshim was this past Shabbos, and we continue to reflect on the profound impact of his leadership and his boundless care for Klal Yisrael. Rabbi Hauer, ztv”l, was known for the depth of his Torah knowledge, the dignity with which he carried himself, and the quiet, steady strength that inspired so many. Today, at 1:00 PM EST, the OU will be hosting an event in his memory. The program will feature a shiur from Rabbi Hauer’s son, Rabbi Yissachar Hauer, as well as remarks from Moishe Bane, President Emeritus of the OU. Baltimore, MD - Nov. 16, 2025 - On Sunday, November 9, Pirchei Agudath Israel of Baltimore held its annual Hasmada banquet as a reward for participating in a learning program over the recent Succos vacation.The attendees were boys, grades 1–5, attending local yeshivos and their fathers. To qualify, one had to learn a certain amount of Torah over the recent Succos vacation. The event took place at Greengate Jewish Center with approximately 600 people in attendance. The students were encouraged and charged to become great by Rabbi Moshe Heinemann, shlit’a, and served a yummy, kid-friendly supper by O’Fishel’s Catering. Baltimore, MD - Nov. 16, 2025  - The reopening of the federal government means SNAP recipients can now receive their full benefits. State officials said all regular benefits will hit accounts on Tuesday, Nov. 18. "Gov. Moore made sure Maryland moved urgently to leave no one behind throughout the Trump Administration shutdown," Maryland Department of Human Services Secretary Rafael López said in a news release. "The governor's decisive actions prevented Maryland families from going hungry while the Trump administration fought to withhold these life-saving benefits." While diplomatic efforts are being made to disarm Hamas, Kan News revealed on Sunday that the terrorist organization has begun stockpiling advanced weapons outside of the Gaza Strip for when it is needed. The Federal Aviation Administration said Sunday it is lifting all restrictions on commercial flights that were imposed at 40 major airports during the country’s longest government shutdown. Airlines can resume their regular flight schedules beginning Monday at 6 a.m. EST, the agency said. The announcement was made in a joint statement by Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy and FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford. Citing safety concerns as staffing shortages grew at air traffic control facilities during the shutdown, the FAA issued an unprecedented order to limit traffic in the skies.
