Washington, D.C.- May 27, 2025 - Parents purchasing a new car seat in the next year will want to be aware of an important safety update: Starting June 30, 2025, all car seats sold in the U.S. must meet new federal safety standards aimed at improving protection during side-impact collisions.
The regulation, issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is a major move toward reducing child fatalities and injuries in what experts consider one of the most dangerous types of crashes.
"These new standards are a major step forward in protecting children during one of the most serious types of crashes," the agency told "Good Morning America."

A Dedication Ceremony Was Held at Ramot Mall in Jerusalem for the New “Lehachayot” Kindness Club
Jerusalem, Israel - May 26, 2025 - At the Ramot Mall in Jerusalem, a dedication ceremony was held for the new Kindness Club of the “Lehachayot” organization – a special, thoughtfully designed space dedicated to the well-being of children with special needs and their families. The initiative was spearheaded by the energetic Chabad community activist, Rabbi Mendy Lebel.
The club was inaugurated by the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, and former Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau.
Rabbi Lebel founded the “Beit Halomotai” center for individuals with special needs, was the driving force behind the project.

The Department of Government Efficiency claimed Friday the Social Security Administration (SSA) has "marked" approximately 12.3 million people with Social Security numbers as dead.
The listed ages of the millions of people were at least 120 years, according to DOGE, which posted on social media platform X the SSA has carried out a major “cleanup” of its records.
“After 11 weeks, @SocialSecurity has finished this major cleanup initiative: ~12.3M individuals aged 120+ have now been marked as deceased,” DOGE wrote. “Some complex cases remain, such as individuals with 2+ different birth dates on file. These will be investigated in a follow-up effort.”

Baltimore, MD - May 27, 2025 - Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger is hoping state’s attorneys around Maryland can talk with the governor about juvenile crime because he says the system isn’t working.
Shellenberger says “younger” juveniles are committing violent crime — and that more needs to be done the first time juveniles enter the system so that “we won’t see them again.”

The opening of the humanitarian aid distribution centers marks the beginning of the end of Hamas rule, an Israeli source told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday as the IDF announced the opening of two large food distribution centers, which it has said should be able to feed up to 600,000 Palestinians over the course of a week.
The two centers are located one at Tel Sultan in Rafah in deep southern Gaza, and one at the Morag Corridor, a bit north of Rafah.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) said it has begun distributing food aid in the Gaza Strip, with additional aid trucks scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.
