Baltimore County, MD - Jan. 26, 2026  -  We are a little more than 24 hours since snow blanketed Baltimore County. Many of the main roads are passable, but as you can see from this map, there is still a lot of work to be done. There are currently 523 people utilizing 444 pieces of equipment trying to clear the snow from more than 2,700 miles of roads across the County. It is still highly advised that if you do not need to be out on the road, stay home. It is going to take crews at least all day today to plow throughout the county. Our crews have been working around the clock, many of whom have not seen their loved ones since Saturday. We are working diligently to clear not only the main roads, but side streets and cul de sacs. Baltimore, MD – Jan. 26, 2026 — (BJL) A water main break has been reported on Smith Ave. between Wickfield and Maurleen. Water is currently seeping through the street and is expected to freeze over, creating potentially hazardous driving conditions.Residents in the area are also reporting brown water in their homes.Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible and use extreme caution, as temperatures remain below freezing and road conditions may deteriorate quickly. 
Tel Aviv, Israel - Jan. 26, 2026 - The IDF announced on Monday, following the completion of the identification process by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, in cooperation with the Israel Police and the Military Rabbinate, that IDF representatives informed the family of the deceased hostage, Sergeant First Class Ran Gvili, that their loved one has been identified and will be returned for burial. Ran Gvili, a 24-year-old Yasam officer, fell in a heroic battle on the morning of October 7th. His body was abducted to the Gaza Strip by terrorists. With this, all hostages have been returned from the Gaza Strip to the State of Israel. Baltimore County, MD - Jan. 25, 2026 - Baltimore County government will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26 due to ongoing inclement weather.  There will be no trash or recycling collection on Monday, and all drop-off centers will be closed. Collection will move to a slide schedule.
