President Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, the White House announced Wednesday evening.
The president was expected to speak at a conference on Wednesday afternoon but UnidosUS President Janet Murguía came out on stage to tell the audience waiting for him that he tested positive.
“Regrettably, I was just on the phone with President Biden and he shared his deep disappointment at not being able to join us this afternoon. The president has been at many events as we all know and he just tested positive for COVID,” she said

The Maryland Board of Public Works on Wednesday approved $149 million in cuts to the state budget proposed by Gov. Wes Moore.
Chairing the Board of Public Works meeting in Annapolis, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore proclaimed that he’s managed budgets over his entire career. He added that reductions in the budget are necessary after stagnant economic growth over the last decade.
“When we took office 18 months ago our team realized that Maryland’s business model was broken,” Moore said. “That’s not politics. That’s math.”

Thomas Matthew Crooks’ parents were looking for him on Saturday in the hours leading up to the Trump rally shooting and eventually called law enforcement to indicate that he was missing and they were worried, Fox News has learned.
It’s unclear what his parents told authorities, but the call happened on Saturday before Crooks later opened fire at Trump during the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The parents are being cooperative with authorities and the FBI is still trying to determine a motive for the attack, sources also told Fox News.

The inspector general of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has opened an investigation into the U.S. Secret Service’s planning of a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania that took place on Saturday.
Joseph V. Cuffari, who was appointed as the inspector general by former President Trump in 2019, opened the investigation.
The investigation was recently listed on the Office of Inspector General’s website page that lists ongoing projects.
The objective of the investigation, according to the site, is to “evaluate the United States Secret Service’s process for securing former President Trump’s July 13, 2024 campaign event.”
The project is also categorized as counter terrorism and homeland threats.
