4.7-Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Bay Area

An earthquake with a preliminary 4.7-magnitude rattled the Bay Area late Monday morning.

The quake struck at 11:31 a.m. about 13 miles northeast of Gonzales, Calif., which is in Monterey County, U.S. Geological Survey officials said.

The earthquake could be felt as far north as San Francisco.
