"American League" Bank Robber Captured

The FBI Baltimore Field office say, they have captured a suspect known as the "American League" serial bank robber. The suspect targeted 12 banks in northern Virginia and Maryland over the past eight months.

The man's identity and the details of his arrest were not immediately released.

With the exception of two attempted robberies, the FBI said the suspect has robbed the following locations:

• Nov. 7, 2016: Rosedale Federal at 6708 Belair Road in Baltimore
• Dec. 10, 2016: Columbia Bank at 67 West Aylesbury Road in Timonium
• Jan. 26: Howard Bank at 116 Defense Highway in Annapolis
• Jan. 28: PNC at 7200 Cradlerock Way in Columbia
• Feb. 2: M&T Bank at 3221 Spartan Road in Olney
• Feb. 22: Howard Bank at 116 Defense Highway in Annapolis
• March 4: SunTrust Bank at 603 West Broad Street in Falls Church, Virginia (attempted robbery)
• March 24: Hamilton Bank at 10283 York Road in Cockeysville (attempted robbery)
• May 16: PNC Bank at 2050 York Road in Timonium
• June 6: Wells Fargo at 212 Maple Ave E. in Vienna, Virginia
• June 15: M&T Bank at 9720 Fairfax Blvd. in Fairfax, Virginia
• June 17: Wells Fargo at 930 Bay Ridge Road in Annapolis

In each bank robbery, the man came into the bank, approached a teller and demanded money, officials said. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man then fled the banks on foot, according to officials.
