Police are looking for two men that robbed and assaulted the caretaker of a Synagogue residing in the building in Flatbush.

Sources tell YWN that at around 5:00AM Sunday morning, two black males broke into the Chabad Shul on Avenue J and East 17 Street and proceeded to the third floor apartment. They broke the door down and assaulted a 45 year old victim – who is the caretaker of the Shul.

He was hit with a broom stick and suffered a laceration to his head.

His cell phone, computer and $300 in cash was taken.

The NYPD was first called at around 8:00AM as well as Flatbush Hatzolah. He was taken to Maimonodies Hospital where he is in stable condition.

The NYPD is taking the incident seriously and immediately requested a Level 1 Mobilization. Multiple Detectives were on the scene and Flatbush Shomrim was assisting in trying to gather video footage from the nearby buildings and homes.

Police tell YWN that there is no reason to believe that this was in anyway an anti-Semitic crime and have reason to believe that this is an isolated incident.

Description of the suspects will be published when they become available.
