Brooklyn, NY - An Israeli tourist was arrested for climbing the Brooklyn Bridge to take pictures with his smartphone.
The NY Post says (https://goo.gl/EB0l0y) 18-year-old, Yaroslav Kolchin was picked up at about 7 p.m. Thursday after jumping over a fence on the Brooklyn side of the bridge.
“He jumped up to get a selfie with the skyline behind him,” the Post quoted a witness as saying.
The man was charged with criminal trespass.
Officials previously beefed up security around the bridge after a series of incidents involving climbers taking selfies or replacing the flags atop the bridge.
