US President Barack Obama has secured the necessary number of votes in Congress to ensure the passage of the Iran nuclear deal.

Democratic Senator Barbara Mikulski of Maryland, became the 34th senator to declare her support Wednesday, ensuring Obama's opponents won't obtain the two-thirds majority necessary to undo a presidential veto, which Obama will certainly use if Congress rejects the deal by a simple majority in the coming days.
