Baltimore, Md - Jan. 24, 2016:

Dear BJL,

On the heels of the Passaic tragedy I felt I had to mention that Friday night I put up my cholent on a blech over a gas burner instead of a crockpot like I do normally because everyone was warning abt a possible power outage. During the meal I couldn't understand why I felt so incredibly sleepy - it wasn't that late. Then after the meal I went to check the cholent in case I had to move it on the blech and it wasn't hot. I checked the flame - and there wasn't any! I'd been inhaling carbon monoxide for probably 2 hrs, judging from the warm temp of the pot! I shudder to think what would have happened had I not gone to check the pot. I probably would not be writing you this email now. Pls share with your readers abt the many dangers of CO.

Thank you,

A BJL Reader
