Police have announced that they arrested two people suspected of causing damage to one of the Jerusalem light-rail car when they threw stones at it near Shuafat. The light-rail passes through the Muslim neighborhood in the north of Jerusalem on its way to other northern neighborhoods of Pisgat Ze’ev and Neve Yaakov. Shuafat has been known to be a flash point of Arab violence in the past.

The two suspects were arrested within a few hours of the incident. No injuries were reported but damage was caused to the light-rail car that was hit by the stones. Following their arrests, the suspects were brought for questioning to the nearest police stationed and have been detained until their arraignment hearing.
