The driver who was stopped has 20 pervious offenses in which his license was revoked. Police report they are continuing operation with a focus against hooliganism among drivers, those who place others in danger.

On Sunday night the eve of Rosh Chodesh Av, police on Route 60 near Beit Omar in the S. Hebron Hills area, ordered an Arab driver of a jeep to pull over for inspection.

The driver of the vehicle began to speed up and try to escape from the police, endangering the public and motorists, twice passing a continuous separation line. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was a resident of Tuqwa, the Arab village next to Tekoa. His license has been suspended twenty times in the past.

The police report they will continue its activities against offenses that cause a road accident and those that affect their severity, and will continue to act to change the driving culture by combining information and prevention activities for drivers.
