First graders deal with loss of beloved teacher murdered by Arab terrorist at the Shabbat table Friday night.

Haya Salomon, one of the victims of the barbaric terrorist attack in the town of Neve Tzuf-Halamish, served as a teacher at the Noam Hameiri school in Lod. Arutz Sheva spoke with one of the parents at the school about the loss of the beloved teacher.

Three of Lilach Zederboim's daughters had Salomon as their official teacher, and her fourth daughter studied with Salomon for one of her required subjects. Zederboim said that it was extremely difficult to inform her children about their teacher's murder.

"Immediately after Shabbat I was informed of the murder," Zederboim said. "Luckily the children weren't at home, so my husband and I could take time to recover from this terrible news. When the children came home it was obvious that we had to inform them [of the murder] before the information came from other sources. It is very difficult to sit down a seven-and-a-half-year old girl - who just a week and a half ago met with her teacher for a farewell gathering - and tell her that she'll never see [her teacher] again. It is very, very difficult. It is very difficult even for the older girls."

She added: "Everybody knew it. 'Morah Haya' (teacher Haya) was a name associated with the first and second grades. When the girls finished their two years with her they knew they were ready to read, count, and for any other field. [Haya] put her all into everything she did."

"Unfortunately, we are a people with such terrible experiences. We told them that the terrorist entered Neve Tzuf, went to the Salomon home, and that the terrorist murdered Morah Haya. It was very difficult news. After a long time of crying they asked to say the Psalms which Morah Haya had laminated [for them]. We took out the laminated pages and recited the Psalms. We said that it was so sad that Morah Haya was single and had no children. Then my youngest said: 'You know, Mommy, we were all her children.' And it was so true. The meeting was just last week and she got a hug from each of [the students]. She was a special teacher, and she won an award for being an outstanding teacher."

Zederboim said that the school had met with the parents to discuss what the students should be told about Haya's murder.

Thousands of people came to the Modiin cemetery Sunday afternoon to pay their last respects to the three members of the Salomon family who were murdered by an Arab terrorist Friday night in the town of Halamish (Neve Tzuf) in western Samaria.
