Two people were lightly injured Sunday afternoon after a brushfire which broke out in an open area near the northern city of Tzfat spread to a residential area, burning buildings and forcing residents to evacuate.

Residents of the Maaleh Cnaan neighborhood in the northern Galilee city were forced to flee after the fire approached homes.

At least two people were injured by the fire. MDA emergency medical responders evacuated the injured to Ziv Hospital in Tzfat, Both have been listed in light condition.

Firefighters working to contain the blaze say they believe a woman may be trapped inside one of the buildings that caught fire. Units at the scene are attempting to locate and rescue the woman.

A total of four buildings and numerous vehicles have been damaged or destroyed by the fire.

Six firefighting teams have been deployed to the Maaleh Cnaan neighborhood, and police are evacuating residents from their homes.

A second blaze forced evacuations in the town of Beit El Sunday afternoon. At least three people suffered smoke inhalation.
