In order to strengthen Turkey as a leading Muslim factor in Jerusalem, Turkish foundations and organizations are pouring tens of millions of dollars into eastern Jerusalem and Har Habayis. Part of the money is Turkish government money, which finances the Tika organization. At the head of Tikka is Dr. Serdar Cam, a close associate of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and former head of his office in the Turkish parliament, who has been inspired by his speeches against Israeli control of Jerusalem, which he views as “insult,” Yisrael Hayom reports.

According to the investigation since 2004, the Tika organization has invested millions of dollars in 63 various projects in eastern Jerusalem. Turkey’s allies in the city are the head of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement Sheikh Raed Salah, and the former Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Akrama Sabri.

Among the projects in which millions of dollars were invested were the restoration of the Ottoman Islamic Archives on Har Habayis, the purchase of a large water track for the worshipers on Har Habayis, the financing of salvage excavations on the Old City’s streets, the restoration of the Muslim cemetery at the foot of the eastern wall of Har Habayis as well as other community and religious projects, all in eastern Jerusalem.

Another Turkish society partly financed the buses that brought the Moraviton and Moravitat activists to the Temple Mount. The organizations have been outlawed as simply stated, they consisted of paid provocateurs sent to Har Habayis to incite violence.
