Many confuse the suit and tie and British accented English with being a moderate but in fact, King Abdullah II of Jordan is no more friend of Israel than his father, King Hussein. True, he may be a moderate compared to Iran, but the king is no friend of Israel.

In his latest provocation, Abdullah speaks of how Israel permits Jews to desecrate Har Habayis, referring to efforts by Jews to daven and recite Shema on Har Habayis on Yom Yerushalayim. The king views this as provocative but seems fine when Islamic youths urinate on the holy site R”L and play soccer, for as long as he keeps the Jews far away. Those who violated regulations and tried to prostrate themselves or daven were arrested by police

Jordanian spokesman Muhammad al-Mumini warned of the consequences if Israel continues to turn a blind eye to warning of defilement of Muslim holy sites. The Hashemite Kingdom also accuses Israel of trying to change historical realities on the Mount, as if Islam has a legitimate claim to the site.

As his father, King Hussein, who did sign a peace agreement with Israel, they are weak leaders and fear an Islamic radical takeover as has occurred in neighboring nations. For them, an agreement with Israel is beneficial and that is the only reason they abide by it. It was King Hussein who permitted his people to take the matzeivos from Har HaZeisim and line the urinals with them R”L, as was discovered when Yerushalayim was liberated from Jordanian occupation, which was celebrated this week on Yom Yerushalayim.

The leftists and others prefer to distort history and side with Israel’s enemies while Jordan is portrayed as an ally nation when in fact, like Egypt, the Amman maintains a state of non-war with Israel for as long as it serves his majesties agenda.

It was the myopic leadership following Hashem’s miracle in 1967; Yitzchak Rabin and Moshe Dayan, who gave Jordan the key to Har Habayis to Jordan instead of ousting the vehemently anti-Semitic Waqf Authority, that continues to defile Har Habayis to this very day.
