Eli Baransky, a colonel in the IDF reserves and resident of Yishuv Eli in Shomron on Tuesday 16 Adar announced his candidacy in the Bayit Yehudi leadership race.

In an interview with Arutz-7, he announced that he has been traveling the country and is aware the party has become detached from its voters.

Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennet recently announced he was moving up primaries to next month. It is believed this is to make certain the party stands ready for elections in the event Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is indicted in one of the investigations against him. Baransky joins the race against Bennet, who seeks reelection, and Rabbi Yitzchak Zaga, who announced his candidacy months ago.
