Interior Ministry reports 186,923 babies born in Israel since last Rosh Hashanah, In addition, 26,990 immigrants made Aliyah.

Days before the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), the Israeli Interior Ministry published figures highlighting the growth of Israel’s population over the past year – according to the Hebrew calendar.

According to the Ministry’s Population and Migration Department, there were 186,923 recorded births in Israel since last Rosh Hashanah. In addition, 26,990 immigrants made Aliyah to Israel, making the total number of new Israelis 213,913.

Over the same period there were 45,033 deaths in Israel.

The Ministry also provided statistics on marriage and divorce. During the past Hebrew year, more than 82,000 Israelis got married, while less than 24,000 were divorced.

Some 732,000 identity cards were issued over the past year.
