Commercial manager Ali Gayward said that conditions at the Israeli airport's Terminal 1 are not acceptable.

UK low-cost carrier easyJet has criticized the conditions at Ben Gurion Airport's Terminal 1 and said they are unacceptable. Speaking to the Britain-Israel Chamber of Commerce earlier this week easyJet commercial manager Ali Gayward said, "One of our big challenges at Ben Gurion Airport is that passengers are forced to check-in at Terminal 1 and are then transferred by bus to Terminal 3 from where they take off. The conditions at the terminal (Terminal 1) are not acceptable and the matter is high on the agenda from our point of view."

She added that an easyJet delegation would soon be meeting the airport's manager to discuss this issue.

On a more positive note, Gayward said that easyJet is considering adding a third weekly flight on its Tel Aviv-Manchester route due to high demand. easyJet currently operates two weekly flights on the route on Mondays and Thursdays.

She said, "We are happy to be considering adding a flight to the Tel Aviv-Manchester route due to the great popularity that it has gained. EasyJet is also examining the possibility of operating at Ilan Ramon Airport in Timna, which is currently being built and will replace the airports in Eilat and Ovda."

easyJet operates 34 weekly flights between Israel and eight European cities: London (Luton and Gatwick), Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, Berlin, Basel, and Geneva.
