On Wednesday Ruth Senecal Schwartz, the mother of Ezra Schwartz,H'yd, the American teen who was killed by an Arab terrorist while volunteering with his yeshiva in Israel, wrote the following post to Facebook to reflect on losing her son:

November 19th, 2015…5 whole months have passed!
I have not heard Ezra’s voice or received a silly text from him in 5 months. Ezra was studying in Israel so I haven’t seen him or felt his arms around me or kissed his cheek since Sept. 2nd 2015. I visit him almost every day and he is quiet. Yesterday, on the 5 month anniversary of his murder, I visited the site where he was killed. He was quiet there too. Ezra was one of the loudest people I ever knew. He was always clapping and dancing and singing. He captured a room with his energy. Ezra knew how to talk to everyone. He knew how to talk to adults, he knew how to talk to his friends, and he knew how to talk to little children. Ezra was special because he also knew how to listen. I comfort myself by knowing that he is listening to us now. I miss you Ezra. I will listen carefully to hear your voice and watch carefully to see your energy and mannerisms in those that loved you. I will always love you and keep you with me. Love, Mommy ( Timzy )
