Jerusalem, Israel - Feb. 8, 2016 - The ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel, was filled to capacity for the 13th annual Jerusalem Conference. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin addressed the morning opening event, with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat scheduled for the second day. 

Chief Rabbi David Lau, government ministers, deputy ministers and members of Knesset, spoke at the conference, as well as the leader of opposition, Yitzhak Herzog.

Highlights at this conference are the Jerusalem Prizes, presented to individuals and organizations in various categories over the course of the two-day event. Minister Gilad Erdan presented the Jerusalem Prize to Rimon, the Israeli company which provide filtered internet coming into the home. Erdan then spoke how the internet and social media were being used by those against Israel. 

Education Minister Naftali Bennett, presented  awards to Ha'Agudah l'Hitnadvut, Michlelet Talpiot and to Zeev Schwartz of Torah Mitzion. Torah Mitzion won the Jerusalem Prize for working to connect Diaspora Jews to Israel through education. Each award was proceeded by a short video. Among those seen in the Torah Mitzion video were Rabbi Yehuda Lapian and Ilana York who taught at the Berman Hebrew Academy in Rockville, MD.

Also included in the photo essay are Minister Yisrael Katz, MK Bezalel Smotrich, media personality Sivan Rahav Meir, Emanuel Elstein, Orly Zilbershlag, Boaz Genut, Hasida Pinchuk, Shira Sohn, and Batya Americus, Bat Sherut who is doing her National Service at Torah Mitzion and is a Baltimore native.
