Israel - Nov. 19, 2015 - Five people were going about their business today in Israel when they were brutally murdered by Islamic terrorists. One of them, an American boy learning at a school in Beit Shemesh. After the barbaric Paris attacks last week, and after seeing the unbridled enthusiasm for supporting the French in their "merciless" response, it has never been more clear that Israel is alone in its own fight against Islamic terror.

While other countries suffer tragedies at the hands of Islamic terrorists cut from the same cloth as those in Israel and representing the same unapologetically murderous ideology, when it comes to Israel's fight for survival and for justice, the world simply doesn't care.

To be sure, the world also doesn't care about the systemic ethnic cleansing in Arab countries of Yazidis, Christians, and other infidels, but Israel gets the distinction of being blamed for its own tragic losses! We are told, "Well, it's a two-sided conflict, so you pretty much deserve it. Because occupation!"

Even if you buy that absurd argument, note that since we made Aliyah in August, there have been terror attacks in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Raanana, Beit Shemesh -- and none of these is a "disputed territory". Logical failure.

Innocent civilians have been murdered on Israeli soil. Parents. Children. Elderly. The terrorists spare no one. Since when is it acceptable to murder innocent people, ever? In France it isn't ok. But in Israel, "occupation!"

When the U.S. and other countries strike terror targets and innocent lives are lost as collateral damage, there are no U.N. resolutions. No media calling the terror targets "alleged". No cries to boycott U.S.-made products. Nor should there be. War is hell.

Today, France made Swiss cheese out of the perpetrators of last week's attacks. (Notice how I didn't say "alleged".) Nobody told them to be proportional or use restraint. The world is cheering them on. As they should. When Israel kills knife-wielding terrorists caught mid-murder spree, the U.N. and all the other haters are chomping at the bit. Viewed objectively, none of this makes any sense.

But all this complaining about double standards is hackneyed. Nothing new under the sun. It is clear to us that the "occupation" is a pretext. It is a blatant pretext for the plain-old anti-Semitism experienced by almost every generation of my ancestors. None of this surprises me in the least. We are alone in our fight.

Despite all this, I feel safer in Israel than I did in America. Yes, you read that right! In America, where a visiting rabbi was murdered in cold blood on Shabbat morning in North Miami Beach, and the police never found the two killers. Where swastikas were painted on synagogues and on cars, and the police never found the vandals. Where ISIS already has members in place at training camps in multiple cities, and where the virtually wide-open borders allow their numbers to grow unchecked. Safety is an illusion.

And forget about Europe; the demographics show it is a lost cause. So when people ask me whether we are afraid here in Israel, the answer is no. We may be alone in the world, but THIS is where we belong. Our future is here. And we have God on our side. And the IDF. We're good. ‪#‎AmYisraelChai‬
