President Trump condemns deadly terror attack in Barcelona, promises assistance to Spain.

President Donald Trump condemned the Thursday’s terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, and pledged to do “Whatever is necessary” to help following the attack.

“The United States condemns the terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, and will do whatever is necessary to help. Be tough & strong, we love you!”

Even before local authorities confirmed the attack, which left at least 13 dead and 52 injured, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the incident had all the “hallmarks…of yet another terrorist attack.”

The US, Tillerson continued, stands “ready to assist law enforcement and national security authorities in Spain,” Fox News reported. “Terrorists around the world should know the United States and our allies are resolved to find you and bring you to justice.”

US security and State Department officials are “closely monitoring” the situation in Barcelona, State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert tweeted, urging Americans to avoid the La Rambla pedestrian mall area where the attack took place.

Spanish media outlets reported that the Central Intelligence Agency warned local police two months ago that the La Rambla area could be targeted by terrorists for the same kind of car ramming attack used against targets in Israel, the UK, US, France, and Germany.
