Lower Manhattan, NY -- A major water leak at One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan caused flooding between floors and even resulted in some people getting trapped in elevators Tuesday.

The leak triggered the alarm system at about 12:30 p.m.and caused the two elevators to stop, trapping people inside.

A spokesperson for the Durst Organization, which operates 1 WTC, said a condenser line in the air conditioning system leaked water on the 88th floor. Water got into the stairways and dripped down the steps and into the elevators.

The FDNY was called to help with elevator rescues. All who were trapped are now out of the elevators.

There were no reports of injuries or evacuations.
