“My faith in humanity restored:

It’s been a long day, but a good day. My children were in day-camp and on a trip which meant that I had to stay in the Brighton area for an extra two hours with the little kids while waiting for my children’s bus from Canobie Lake Park to return.
I decided to treat the two little children with a play date with a friend and her two little ones, who were also waiting for her older children to return. We decided to meet at the Artesani splash pad in Allston.

After two hours of running after the two little ones pushing them on swings, feeding them a picnic dinner, and just having good old-fashioned water fun, I left the park in a hurry to go pick up my older children at the bus without realizing that I left my purse right near the bench where I was sitting.

Only after arriving at home at 7:30 PM did I realize that my purse was still in the Artesani splash park.
To my great dismay I had lost my wallet, my brand new sunglasses, all eight medical cards, credit cards, my license, 5 credit cards, and all my ID, etc.
I was a little bit overwhelmed to say the least.
While putting my kids to bed I heard the doorbell ring I went outside to see a young couple standing outside my front door holding my pink purse. With a broken English they explained that they saw the purse on the floor near the bench and realized that it belonged to a mom of many children there was no number in the wallet only my address on my license

They drove 40 minutes each way from Alston to return my purse to me.

A Young couple on their day off with their two little children, went out of their way after a long day to help me. They would not take any reward, just a hug and in broken English the mom said “I know how much you probably needed this; how could I not return it.”

I started crying, I just couldn’t believe that a young couple with two little children, who probably wanted to get home themselves and put their little ones to bed, went out of their way to help me.

You keep reading about how bad this world is, and how people have become selfish, self-absorbed, and self-focused , yet here standing before me were two kind people. Two people who didn’t think twice to drive almost 2 hours out of their way to help a complete stranger. These two wonderful people restored my faith in humanity.

I took their name and phone number and promised to get in touch with them and see if there was some way that I could return the favor at some point.

My day just turned around…

…There is goodness out there!
