Fear and panic quickly spread throughout Brooklyn’s Orthodox Community, Sunday morning, after reports surfaced on social media of stones being thrown from a Mosque at a Jewish woman.

The reports claimed that on Saturday afternoon, rocks were thrown from a window at the Bangladesh Mosque on 105 Cortelue Road in the Kensington section of Brooklyn.

The 22-year-old woman filed a police report on Saturday night, and the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force was called to investigate.

Highly credible sources confirm to YWN that after viewing surveillance camera footage, and interviewing multiple people, Detectives have confirmed that a few bottle caps were thrown out of a window by juveniles.

Police sources tell YWN that it does not appear they were targeting anyone in particular and do not believe this is a hate crime. Juvenile reports were filled out by the NYPD.

Additionally, another incident being reported about a firebomb thrown in Manhattan at two Chabad Yeshiva boys from Israel, is also being investigated. This incident also appears not to be related to a hate crime.

It should be noted that the NYPD in Brooklyn South, under the leadership of Chief Steven Powers, had already placed extra patrols at many synagogues since violence in Israel soared the past two weeks.

Police add that there although are no known threats towards the Jewish community in New York, people should always remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
