Baltimore, MD - Nov. 16, 2017 - We are experiencing a recent increase in crime within the community.  Some of the crimes include: cars have been broken into, vehicles have been stolen, as well as several burglaries. Please remember to lock your vehicles and residences at all times. So, when you leave your car, leave it empty and locked.  Please be vigilant of suspicious subjects or vehicles roaming through the neighborhood.  If you notice any suspicious activity, safely get a good description of the subjects or vehicles (including license plates) and immediately contact 911.

The Baltimore Police Department would also like to make the community aware that there have been several incidents in which a vehicle is struck from the rear and when the driver gets out of the vehicle, the driver has then been assaulted by occupants of the striking vehicle.  The assailants have taken property and in some cases the vehicle from the victim.  If involved in an accident, PLEASE be mindful of this and if needed move your vehicle to a well-lit safe area and contact 911 or respond directly to the nearest police district.

Remember: As the cold weather approaches, do not leave your vehicles running and unattended.  It’s not worth the risk and it is against the law.  Vehicles have been STOLEN while left unattended with the engine running.  A vehicle that’s left running and unattended and is stolen as a result is in violation of;

21-1101(a) Leaving unattended vehicle w/o stopping engine, locking ignition, removing key and setting brake.
