Towson, MD - Questions have been raised about a report of awoman being robbed at gunpoint Nov. 14 at Towson Town Center.

FOX45's John Rydell said Baltimore County police have said very little about the case, only that they are still trying to verify the woman's account of what really happened.

The woman reported her purse had been stolen by two men in ski masks. She said one carried a gun.

But in an unusual move, police have not issued any information about the case.

And sources familiar with the investigation say security video from that time has been reviewed.

There are apparently no images of any suspects.

After the murder of a shopper in the parking lot of Towson Town Center more than a dozen years ago, Baltimore County enacted an ordinance requiring all major malls to install security cameras not only in the parking lot but all around the buildings.

"That law has really been successful because it took advantage of what was then an emerging technology," said County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. "Police have used it multiple signs to try and solve crimes."

And some shoppers say those security cameras give them a sense of security.
