Baltimore, MD - July 26, 2017:

Dear Community Members,

During the overnight hours between 07/24/17 and 07/25/17, the Pikeville Precinct experienced a total of three thefts from motor vehicles and one attempted theft from a motor vehicle. The first two thefts occurred in the 100 block of Raisin Tree Circle (same victim with two vehicles), the third theft occurred in the 100 block of River Oaks Circle and the attempted theft occurred in the 100 block of River Oaks Circle.  There were no signs of forced entry to any of the targeted vehicles. During the attempted theft on River Oaks Circle, video surveillance footage showed the suspect approach the victim’s vehicle, pull the door handle, and simply walk away once he discovered that the door was locked. It is imperative that vehicles be left locked at all times.  The overwhelming majority of thefts from motor vehicles occur because vehicles are unlocked.

Please remember to lock your vehicles and remove all valuables at all times.

Please be vigilant of suspicious subjects or vehicles roaming through the neighborhood.  If you notice any suspicious activity, safely get a good description of the subjects or vehicles (including license plates) and immediately contact 911.

We offer Free Home Security Surveys, where a uniformed officer will respond to your home and give you suggestions on ways to make your home more secure. Officers from the Pikesville Precinct are actively patrolling your neighborhood. If you have any questions or would like to have a Security Survey, please contact the Pikesville Community Outreach Team for assistance at 410-887-6775.
