Baltimore, MD - Jan. 17, 2017 - Information on dozens of schools and other resources will be on display at an expo for families exploring school options for their child, particularly children with special needs, on Sunday, January 22.

The School Fair will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Weinberg Jewish Community Center in Baltimore, Maryland and will highlight educational options for families in Baltimore City and County, including charter schools, magnet schools, private special education schools, and home schooling. In addition, information will be available on legislation proposed this year related to parental educational choice and information on scholarships for private schools.

Maryland Special Needs Advocacy Project and Macks Center for Jewish Education are hosting the event as a part of their mission to provide free educational advocacy to families in the greater Baltimore area. The school fair serves as a kick off to National School Choice Week, a week long celebration of education options for families across the country.

“Children with special needs often struggle through the system without the resources needed to address their unique needs. By holding this school fair we will empower parents and connect them with directly with resources that put their child first,” said Martha Goodman, Coordinator for Maryland Special Needs Advocacy Project.
