Baltimore, MD - Nov. 21, 2016 - It was an exciting day at Ohr Chadash Academy last friday, Nov. 18, as we were privileged to host the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Lau. Our kindergarten classes were visited first, then the 2nd-6th grades, followed by the first grade classes. Our students were privy to a very special D'var Torah and brachot given by Rabbi Lau.

The messages he gave over to the students were invaluable, teaching them that we are a kehilla, and we are the Jewish people put here on Earth to do good, to do Chesed.

Rabbi Lau asked our 2nd-6th grade students to keep track of their chesed opportunities. He wants each student going forward to be mindful of chesed opportunities and write down two times that he/she performed an act of chesed since meeting the Rav.

We will be sending our writings to Rabbi Lau at the end of the school year.

We were so fortunate to have this experience and to be able to introduce the students to a true talmud chacham.
