Baltimore, MD - Nov. 8, 2016 - Twenty five local Jewish Agencies and over 700 people gathered  together, this past Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, for Shabbat Through The Senses, a Community Sponsored Family Event to kick off the Baltimore Shabbat Project 2016.

Designed to bring families from different parts of the community together, under the leadership of Co-chairs Merav Levine and Gabby Burger, the Owings Mills JCC was transformed into a bustling, energetic hub of families preparing for Shabbat together. The event included hands on activities, a mitzvah  project, live entertainment, a low sensory room and even a mini challah bake.  Families had a blast as they made their rounds filling their “Shabbat Box” with different handmade items to be used at their own Shabbat table this coming week. Completed boxes included candles, candlesticks, grape juice, challah covers, kiddush cups, b’samim, placemats and of course challah!

Support and sponsorships from local community agencies and other community agencies made this event a success!
