Baltimore County, Md - Nov. 2, 2016 - Baltimore County Police Chief Jim Johnson presented awards today at a commanders meeting. The awards went to commanders of precincts that saw a drop in overall crime in 2015. Baltimore County experienced a 4.1% drop in overall crime in 2015 when compared to the previous five year average.

  • Captain Jonathan Trentzsch (Former Commander of the Woodlawn Precinct) received an award for the .2% reduction in overall crime in the Woodlawn Precinct in 2015.
  • Captain John McGann (Commander of the Pikesville Precinct) received an award for the .2% reduction in overall crime in the Pikesville Precinct in 2015.
  • Captain Dennis Delp (Former Commander of the Cockeysville Precinct) received an award for the .2% reduction in overall crime in the Cockeysville Precinct in 2015.
  • Captain Christopher Kelly (Commander of the White Marsh Precinct) received an award for the .2% reduction in overall crime in the White Marsh Precinct in 2015.
  • Captain Orlando Lilly (Commander of the Dundalk Precinct) received an award for the 1.1% reduction in overall crime in the Dundalk Precinct in 2015.

Chief Johnson stated:

These commanders and the officers that work for them have done an admirable job in reducing crime and I am proud of them. Every day, the members of the Baltimore County Police Department go out there and face criminals who are increasingly becoming more violent against law enforcement. Despite this challenge, they do their best to make Baltimore County a safe place to live, work, and play.
