Baltimore, MD - Oct. 31, 2016 - I am writing this letter in response to recent discussions and postings that support the re-election of  Congressman Sarbanes and the election of Chris Van Hollen to U.S. Senate.

It was just over a year ago that we were implored by our community leaders to call these very same congressman, to implore them not to support the Iran Nuclear deal. We gathered in our synagogues and begged Hashem to overturn the evil decree (bad deal). We gathered in Beth Tfiloh, well over 1500 strong, in a show of unity so that these very same
Congressman would know that from all walks of Jewish Baltimore, we were together, vehemently opposed to the "deal" struck  by Secretary of State John Kerry and President Obama.

We called these Congressman, some of us daily, because we were told that our calls matter, that their offices count the number of calls in opposition. And then, they didn't. They voted to support the deal. The very same deal that  Prime Minister Netanyahu likened to the evil scheme of Haman. The deal that Binaymin Netanyahu said "could well threaten the survival of my country and the future of my people".

And now I am asked to vote for Congressmen Sarbanes and Van Hollen? Seriously? I am told they basically vote with us. I will note, except when they vote to kill us. Could I face my brother in Israel when the next crisis arises, as it most assuredly will, and tell him that I ignored their previous vote. Could I tell my kids that I voted for them, when it's not safe to send my children to Yeshiva or Seminary in Israel.

I called. I didn't call because I needed a stop sign at some corner. I called because the very existence of the State of Israel and the Jewish people were at stake. I was ignored. The price for ignoring me is my vote. Dr. Mark Plaster seems like a straight person. He certainly is an accomplished individual. He has my vote.  I don't know enough about Kathy Szeliga but she hasn't done anything yet to lose my vote. So she can have my vote.

I hope those that read this letter are moved to make your voice heard at the ballot box. There should be a price for voting for the Iran deal. It should be your vote.
