Only five months ago, a healthy husband and father of 3 was stricken with stage 4 cancer.  Leaving no stone unturned, 40 year-old Daniel Lansky battled the disease with incredible belief and trust in Hashem. His wife Elana stood by his side and did everything in her power to reverse the fatal decree from Heaven.  A little over a month ago, she begged others to join her to amass zechusim in a desperate attempt to save her husband. She texted a few of her friends the following:

"Hi everyone. I'm calling on you- my fellow women of klal yisroel... Of recent our family has been going through a challenge that no one should ever have to face... I asked R Chaim Kanievsky what I can do to help my husband and our family's situation. He said... I should use my koach Hashem has given to me during this time to get the women of klal yisroel to work on loshon hora.... open miracles have happened to people that have taken it upon themselves to learn 2 halachos a day. So from my heart to yours and my soul to yours. I beg of you to please help me storm Shamayim with learning of these Halachos as a Zechus for a refuah shelaima for my husband. I will be starting a what's app group that I will send a voice note with the 2 halachos of the day and all you have to do is listen at some point during the day...  iyH everyone who is learning with me should be blessed with Bracha, mazel, hatzlacha, and everything promised above and an immediate refuah shelaima for all those who need one and we should be zocheh to see Mashiach iyH very soon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Elana"

Elana's request went viral and in a short while, Elana had over 7,000 women across the world spending a few minutes a day listening to her recitation of halachos. In some posts, with the hospital monitors beeping in the background, Elana cried and thousands of women cried with her. So many were touched and inspired by Elana's efforts.

Tragically, Daniel lost his battle to cancer this past Thursday. With the calamitous and untimely passing of Daniel Mordechai ben Reb Nachum Meir HaLevi, Elana is now left a 34 year-old mother of three beautiful children - to raise on her own. Her future and that of their three sons is truly now in Klal Yisrael’s hands—in your hands!

Please understand that the need here is very great. Elana must be home for her 3 boys, Coby (9), Ahron (6) and Gavi (3). She is crucial to their future as their only loving parent and we must help her see them grow into healthy and strong members of Klal Yisrael. The children must have stability - to remain in their home, continue with their activities and interests, and have access to the support and help they will require for many years to come. These youngsters have a future of challenges and needs that we can barely even imagine. In the wake of this unfathomable tragedy, we must do our part! We must provide them the necessary funds to make that future manageable and secure for this family.
