Baltimore's City Council has approved a new property tax credit for low-income seniors.

The Baltimore Sun reports the credit will be available to homeowners who are at least 62-years-old who have owned their homes for at least 10-years and have an income of less than $40,000.

The city's Department of Finance had objected to the measure that would cost about $4-million a year, but Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said she would sign the bill if it was passed by the council.
