Baltimore, MD - May 29, 2016 - Lag B’Omer is a day of Jewish unity and celebration so what better way to celebrate than with a multigenerational parade. In what has become an annual event, the students at the Gan at Cheder Chabad paraded down Park Heights Avenue to our neighbors at Weinberg Park Assisted Living.

Dressed for the occasion in paper hats and sashes the children rode bikes, trikes, scooters or rode along in a stroller or wagon. Watching over 100 children ages 2-6 parade down the sidewalk was a sight to see and it elicited a warm response from passersby and from the residents at Weinberg Park. Trying to move so many children in close proximity to the street was a safety concern. Cheder Chabad thanks Betsy Gardner and Officer Ken Dickstein for assisting them by blocking off the right  lane of traffic thus protecting their students.

Upon arrival at Weinberg Park, students were welcomed with signs, music and cold refreshments. While the seniors enjoyed the meet and greet and musical performances of the children, the children enjoyed the custom balloon creations arranged especially for them by the staff at Weinberg Park. It's so wonderful when the community comes together, connecting members of all ages and demographics.

In true Lag B’Omer fashion it was a live experience of  Hinei mah tov umanayim shelves achim gam yachad.
