Baltimore, MD - Mar. 28, 2016 - This past Sunday morning, the Baltimore community celebrated with Khal Ahavas Yisroel Tzemach Tzedek, the dedication of a new Sefer Torah to the Shul by Dr. & Mrs. Phillip Schwartz.

The procession began at the home of Mr.  & Mrs. Mosi Treuhaft and proceeded down Fallstaff Road and across Park Heights Ave. to the Sefer Torah's new home at Rabbi Dovid Heber’s Shul. The joyous singing and dancing was enhanced by the lively music of Zemer Orchestra, singing by the very talented Zemiros Group and the attendance of many of the community's prominent Rabbonim and leaders.

At the conclusion of the celebration, Rabbi Heber shared a few words about the Schwartz family's dedication to the community and what we can learn from the letters of the Torah. He explained, that the letters of the Torah symbolize each and every Jew. If even one tiny letter was missing or incomplete the effect spreads to all the other letters in the Torah rendering it posul. Accordingly, each and every Jew is precious and if one of us is in peril it affects us all. However, he continued, the letters must also not be touching as this would render the Torah posul as well. Similarly, each and every Jew must stand on his own and reach his own potential.

The attendees then enjoyed a wonderful hot buffet. It was a truly joyous occasion that will be remembered by all.
