Baltimore, MD- Nov. 15, 2016 - The Northwest Citizens Patrol (NWCP) will hold its 33rd annual reception at B’nai Jacob Shaarei Zion at 8:00 PM this coming Motzaei Shabbos, November 21st.  This year’s reception will honor long-time NWCP Chairman of the Board and Watch Commander, Stanley Fishkind.  The reception will also feature a welcome to new Baltimore City Police Commissioner, Kevin Davis.  In addition, with the mayoral race wide open this coming election, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the six major candidates for mayor: former Mayor Sheila Dixon, Elizabeth Embry, Chief of the Criminal Division for the Maryland office of the attorney general, Councilman Nick J. Mosby, State Senator Catherine Pugh, Councilman Carl Stokes, and businessman David Warnock.

The NWCP was founded thirty-three years ago to combat crime in Northwest Baltimore and is a unique partnership of community members, Baltimore City and Baltimore County police, Baltimore City and Baltimore County political leadership, and community Rabbanim and lay leaders. Besides the nightly patrols, other NWCP programs include Victim Assistance, Auto and Bicycle Safety Classes, Home Security Surveys, Self-defense Classes, Event Protection, Auto-theft Prevention and more.

The NWCP is proud to be one of the best and largest citizen patrol groups in the United States.  Nevertheless, the rabbinic leadership of the community and the NWCP recognize that we cannot take this success and partnership for granted.  Thus it is vital for members of the community to show support for the patrol, the police and the political leadership who support this ongoing partnership by having a large community turn-out out at the dinner.

The NWCP reception will feature a large selection of delicious food, a short program and an interesting video.  For more information on the reception and for reservations call (410) 664-6927 extension 8, or e-mail rsvp@nwcp.info.
