Baltimore, MD - Oct. 1, 2015:

A Gut Moed to all.

Regretfully, I share the sad news of the passing of Mildred Shulbank Strutt, a'h, mother of Marjorie Shulbank. Marjorie Shulbank has played a vital role in our community over the last many years for children with special needs and their families. A longtime official at the Maryland State Department of Education and its Department of Special Education/Early Intervention, Marjorie identified and was successful in addressing the need for Jewish children with special education needs to be educated within their culturally-safe environment. She was the driving force behind the founding of the PEN (Partnership for Education Needs) Project in 2004, where state and federal funds have been utilized to create a special education environment within a number of our Jewish day schools, and has worked to maintain the program ever since. She has been intimately involved in a number of other special needs related programs that have benefited numerous families.

The funeral for Mildred Shulbank Strutt, Marjorie’s mother, will be Friday morning October 2nd at 11 am in the Levinson Chapel. The family will be receiving visitors on Friday from 1-6 pm at 2 Running Brook Court (Harmony Woods) Owings Mills, MD 21117 and on Sunday 1-5 pm at 10687 Quarterstaff Road, Columbia MD 21044.

May the family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
