Baltimore, MD -  June 4 - 2015 - Residents near The Agudah Park heights,  are being visited by individuals  who are dressed to appear "orthodox" and are leaving proselytizing packets on doors.  The packets are from a "prominent business man" named Tom Cantor, who converted to Christianity  years ago, and has started a ministry called "Israel Restoration."  This group focuses on proselytizing Jews.”

It turns out that Cantor is a multi-millionaire Jewish businessman who converted to and became part of the 70-million-strong evangelical Christian movement. He produced the DVD and FAQ booklet (pictured below) about his conversion to Christianity and hired 200 young Christians to spread the Gospel in Jewish neighborhoods of Los Angeles, including Encino, Westwood, Beverly Hills and Hancock Park.  They continue to spend millions of dollars on their "Outreach Campaign" targeting Jewish communities along the East Coast.

If you are handed  or receive any of these materials from Israel Restoration Ministry, DO NOT ACCEPT them. If they have been placed on your porch be sure to throw them away. Do NOT let your children read them

Jews for Judaism makes the following suggestions when encountering these individuals :

Firstly, be aware that the best response may be to politely and firmly say, “No thank you.” If you do chose to engage in dialogue, don’t assume the missionaries are correct simply because you don’t have answers to their questions, and don’t feel pressured to give an answer on the spot. There are always two sides to every argument. If you apply good critical thinking skills you will take time to research your replies.

Secondly, turn to your rabbi for answers or click here to visit the Jews for Judaism website, which has an extensive library and free literature for download.

Finally, be aware that many missionaries give away free Bibles that are replete with misleading and incorrect translations of the Hebrew original.

If you have any questions or concerns in dealing with these individuals please do not hesitate to call the Baltimore office of Jews for Judaism at 410-602-0276.
